HARRISBURG – Rep. Carrie Lewis DelRosso (R-Allegheny/Westmoreland) will be offering weekly veterans affairs outreach hours in her district office at 950 Pittsburgh St., Suite 200, in Springdale on every Wednesday in 2021 from noon to 2 p.m., starting with June 2 An accredited field service officer from the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be available to assist veterans by appointment with a variety of issues.

The field service officer will assist veterans in filing VA claims for disability compensation, disability increase and rating decision appeals; veteran or surviving spouse pension; burial and death benefits; addition of dependents; dependency and indemnity compensation; as well as other veterans’ benefits.

“Our veterans have dutifully served our country. In turn, it is our duty to connect them with the benefits they earned,” Lewis DelRosso said. “We all want to see our veterans thrive, and there are a number of programs in place to help them through the many stages of life. By working with the field service officer, they will know what’s available to them.”

Veterans do not need to be a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to receive this service. While the service is free, appointments are required. Interested participants are asked to call the district office at 724-826-5013 to make an appointment.
